Who we are

© NO BS TX Multimedia

At NO BS TX, we believe in straight talk — no fluff, no hidden tricks, no corporate double‑speak. This Privacy Policy tells you exactly what happens when you visit our website, leave a comment, upload media, or interact with our content. We keep it simple, we keep it honest, and we keep your data protected.

Our website address is: https://nobstx.com.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the information you enter — your name, email, and whatever you type — along with your IP address and browser details. This helps us fight spam and keep the BS out of our comment section.

If you use Gravatar, an anonymized hash of your email may be sent to their service to display your profile image. Their privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if you have one) will show publicly next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the site, make sure they don’t contain GPS or location data in the EXIF file. Anyone visiting the site could download the image and pull that information out. We’re a NO BS brand — but we still want you to stay safe.

Cookies

We use cookies for convenience and functionality — nothing sneaky.

  • If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies so you don’t have to re‑enter them next time. These last one year.
  • When you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we set cookies to remember your login and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen settings last a year.
  • If you click “Remember Me,” your login stays active for two weeks.
  • If you edit or publish an article, a cookie is saved to track the post ID. It contains no personal data and expires after one day.

We don’t sell cookies, trade cookies, or hide cookies. They’re just here to make the site work the way it should.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content — videos, images, posts, and more. Embedded content behaves exactly like you visited the other website directly.

Those sites may:

  • Collect data about you
  • Use cookies
  • Track your interaction
  • Monitor your activity if you’re logged into their platform

We don’t control what third‑party sites do — but we tell you straight up when their content is embedded here.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Other than that, we don’t share your data unless required for security, legal compliance, or spam protection.

How long we retain your data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely. This helps us recognize repeat commenters and approve follow‑ups faster.

If you register an account, we store the information you provide in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your personal info anytime — except your username.

Site administrators can also view and edit that information.

We keep what we need to run the site smoothly — nothing more.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request:

  • A copy of the personal data we hold
  • Deletion of your personal data

We’ll remove anything we’re not legally required to keep for administrative, security, or compliance reasons.

Where Your Data Goes

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
This helps keep the trolls, bots, and BS out of the NO BS TX community.

NO BS TX Promise

We don’t play games with your data.
We don’t sell it.
We don’t hide what we do with it.
We tell you straight — because that’s the Texas way, and that’s the NO BS TX way.
