Essential Functions The Child Life Specialist is responsible for providing patient care services for infants, toddlers, school‑age children, adolescents and their families. Fosters emotional wellbeing and cognitive developmental opportunities for young patients and their families, promotes family‑centered care that reduces stress, helps with coping, provides activities to normalize and encourage social interaction, supports developmental integrity through play experiences by creating a safe environment, and orients hospital staff to the psychosocial needs of children and families while fostering positive hospital community relations. Experience Qualifications Minimum Required: Completion of Child Life Internship and eligible to sit for Certification Exam. Preferred: Two years' clinical experience in a pediatric healthcare setting. Licenses and Certifications Preferred: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) – per the Certifying Commission and Association for Child Life Professionals guidelines and requirements. Special Skills and Training Minimum Required: Eligible to become CPR certified, CPI trained, Trach trained. Preferred: CPR certification. Work Shift Variable Hours (United States of America).
